Huawei has broadened its smart-device range with the Huawei M2 door lock, designed with security and long battery life in mind.

The device has a minimalist design and a metal-finished body measuring 365 × 76.5 × 23 mm. It weighs 4.2 kg and runs on four AA batteries, providing up to 18 months of operation.

Its standout feature is AI-assisted fingerprint unlocking. The system learns with every use to improve recognition accuracy. According to the stated specifications, the lock opens in 0.5 seconds, with a minimal risk of errors. Other access options include NFC cards, digital and temporary passwords, “dummy” codes, plus unlocking via Huawei smartphones and smartwatches.

Security is provided through several layers of protection: an EAL5+-certified chip for data storage, an additional access-verification module, and a class C mechanical cylinder. The lock remains operational even if its outer panel is damaged, while the system also alerts the user when battery power is low.
